Keith Stanley, Notts NUM General Secretary and National Vice President inspired the United Campaign to help organise an event on the need for trade union freedom in the light of the experience of workers, including miners, in Nottinghamshire, with the support of the TUC in the area.
The day was a great success with speakers and supporters attending from throughout the UK from the unions, parliament and the law.
